My old school.
Below is a picture of the old school I used to attend called Risca Town School. It catered for both infants and primary children. I found the picture on this site: http://www.riscamuseum.org.uk/risca.html The mountain you can see in the background is Machen mountain.

And this is a picture of how it looks today (Mid April 2007):

The housing estate that replaced the school is called Cwrt-Yr-Ysgol and covers what used to be the whole school, storage sheds and playing yards.

I went to Risca Town School Also, I can even still remember the playground out the back and the high fence.

Hi Dafydd.
Good to hear from you! Do you also remember the huge wall that split the two playing yards? I think it was girls on one side and boys on the other.
